![]() | The Trans Partner Network is a volunteer-run,Toronto-based group of
partners of trans-identified men who came together to form a supportive network. We host free workshop series where partners
of gender-variant and trans-identified women and men can
learn, share, explore, and express their unique experience in a structured, supportive, interactive and creative
environment. History: The Trans Partner Network evolved from ‘SoffaVoices’ (Significant Others, Friends, Family, Allies), a peer support group which formed in 2001. Partners of trans and gender variant people met every three weeks at the 519 Church Street Community Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to discuss issues of personal concern. SoffaVoices had a number of facilitators since its inception and from 2007-2009 existed outside of the 519 as an informal one-on-one peer support network. Starting in January 2009, four former participants of SoffaVoices began to meet regularly. Through visioning and community consultation, the first group was created and ran for 8 weeks in the fall of 2009 at the Sherbourne Health Centre . A new group will run from April 14th - June 2nd. Anyone interested in learning more or joining the group are encouraged to contact TPN before March 31st 2010. We are continually establishing relationships with
community members and allies and are an evolving network dedicated to the varied and unique needs of our communities. |
