The Trans Partner Network is a Toronto-based program and supportive network. We offer a workshop series where partners can learn, share, explore, and express their unique experience in a structured, supportive, interactive and creative environment.

History

TPN evolved from ‘SoffaVoices’ (Significant Others, Friends, Family, Allies), an informal peer support group which formed in Toronto in 2001.  Partners met monthly at the 519 Church Street Community Centre and had a number of facilitators since its inception. From 2007-2009, it existed outside of the 519 as an informal one-on-one peer support network.

Starting in January 2009, four former participants of SoffaVoices began meeting and through visioning and community consultation, they developed an 8 week social, educational and support group. With space from the Sherbourne Health Centre and a grant from the Community One Foundation, TPN launched in the fall of 2009. In 2011, TPN became an official program of the Sherbourne Health Centre, and will continue to run twice a year.

We are an evolving program dedicated to the varied and unique needs of our communities. Anyone interested in learning more or joining the group are encouraged to contact TPN.
